Support Group Playtimes

Baby and Toddler Time

Baby Lap Time meets every Friday from 9:30-10:00 and is facilitated by child development specialist Rebekah Cummings. Older siblings are welcome. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and exchange ideas and concerns. Free to members; infants under 1 year are free.

Terrific Twos and Threes

Toddler Time meets on Thursdays from 9:30-10:00. Geared for toddlers walking through 23 months, their parents and siblings, it is a time for toddlers to interact and parents to talk while the Playhouse is quiet. Facilitated by Amber Mellon; for more information, call 828-263-0011 or 828-355-5222. Free to members or with paid admission to The Children’s Playhouse.

Parent Networking

As the kids play, you’ll enjoy the chance to talk with other parents and caregivers over a free cup of coffee (donated by Espresso News) and browse our Family Resource Library. Playhouse staff members are also here to listen and share information.

Lending Library

Funded by Smart Start through the Children’s Council of Watauga County, the large free lending library covers topics such as toilet training, sleeping, temper tantrums, nutrition, ages and stages, and discipline.

Play Together Kits

We also have “Play Together kits” which are high quality toys, CDs, books, and art materials that you can check out for free. You do not have to be a Playhouse member to use these resources. Any adult may check out these materials for free!
