Helping Hands (those who help families through their careers): Colleen Bare, Stephanie Bunch, Sonya Hamby, Allison Jennings, Christelle Marsh, Angela McMann, Hollie Storie Wilcox, Jennifer Warren, Delores Wilder, Jessica Winebarger
Helping Hearts(those who help through philanthropy or volunteerism): William "Butch" Butler, Katherine Hicks, Pat Morgan
Young Hearts(young people up to age 17 who have already made significant efforts outside their own family to help children and families in the High Country): Deja Lynn Bowen, Ketchel Carey, Willow Dillon, Summer Lewis, D’Artagnan McCoy

Presented by Over Yonder and The Children's Playhouse on Saturday March 21st, the Great Friend to Families Awards recognize people who have devoted years to serving children and families in the High Country. Great Friend to Families logo

This is the 7th year the awards have been given. Past over-all winners include Kaaren Hayes, Judith Winecoff, Pat Morgan, Dick and Joan Hearn, Trish Lanier, and Jim Atkinson. Click here to read complete list of all past honorees.

 The Playhouse stipulates that while a Helping Hands or Helping Hearts honoree may be recognized multiple times, he or she may only be win the overall Great Friend to Families Award once.

The luncheon will also raise funds to support family resource services at The Children’s Playhouse, enabling the children’s museum to provide scholarship memberships to low-income families, offer more programs for children, and improve their exhibits.
